Dr Patrick Musicha
Patrick Musicha is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health, University of Oxford, based at the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit, Bangkok, Thailand.
His interest is in understanding the evolution and spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) with particular focus on ESBL producing Enterobacteriaceae. His current research projects aim at using epidemiological and whole genome sequence data to model carriage and transmission dynamics of ESBL producing Enterobacteriaceae in Europe and South East Asia. Patrick’s PhD was undertaken at the University of Liverpool where he investigated the epidemiology and genomics of AMR in Malawi.
He spent three and half years of his PhD at the Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Programme (Malawi), Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the Wellcome Sanger Institute (UK).
