Dr Shevin Jacob
Dr Shevin Jacob is an infectious diseases physician and Senior Clinical Lecturer in Sepsis Research at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM).
Since 2006, he has been living and working in Uganda conducting research on severe infections in adults. In addition to being a co-Investigator for DRUM, he is the co-Director for the African Research Collaboration on Sepsis (ARCS), recently funded by the UK National Institute of Health Research. Since early 2018, he has been seconded by LSTM to the Infectious Disease Institute in Kampala as Team Lead for its Global Health Security Programme, a portfolio which includes activities in the areas of antimicrobial resistance, infection prevention and control, one health, biosafety/biosecurity, and outbreak response. In addition, he is the Secretary General for the African Sepsis Alliance, a network comprising over twenty African countries and focused on advocacy, training, and research relevant to improving understanding and management of sepsis in Africa.
